Kuirau Park Depart for Kuirau Park, a hotbed of geothermal activity with steaming lakes and bubbling mud pools. Enjoy a visit to the foot bathing area and take a walk through the park to see the steaming lakes and the location of the last eruption in 2001.
Stop 2:
Sulphur Point Next, we'll stop at Sulphur Point on the edge of Lake Rotorua to witness the effects geothermal activity has on the lake. A location frequented by a variety of native birds that thrive in the warm waters produced by nearby geysers and hot springs.
Stop 3:
Government Gardens Continue on to Government Gardens, home to the Rotorua Bathhouse and Museum, the famous Blue Baths, and naturally occurring Rachel's Spring, the source of geothermal water for the Polynesian Spa. Take some great photos and walk through the extensive flower gardens.
